Ep37: Giallo. A lesser known but important influence on modern American horror, the Italian giallo films of the 1960s, 70s and 80s brought stylistic and violent life to the sensibilities of pulp novel mystery thrillers popular on paperback shelves in Italy. A number of giallo masters would graduate to overtly genre horror fare, including the filmmakers behind Don’t Torture A Duckling (1972) and Opera (1987).
